2008 Pacific School Games - Canberra

PSG ThumbnailThe Pacific School Games is an international sporting event for primary and secondary school students aged ten to nineteen. The 2008 Games will be held in Canberra and will feature basketball, diving, hockey, swimming and track & field events.

The Games are a celebration of education, youth and sport and will provide learning experiences and opportunities in and out of the sporting arena - including educational activities for all competitors and involvement of ACT education institutions across the curriculum.

Meta was asked to produce a number of different print and display items for the staff and for the games in general. Initially Meta produced the logo and the sports icons for the event, taking inspiration from the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, which led to the design of business cards and stationery for the PSG staff.

Along the way Meta has produced display banners for media events, and leading up to and during the games we are producing three issues of the ‘Good Sports in ACTion‘ magazine which highlights different events and people who are participating in the games. In conjunction with graphic design student Meta is also producing newsletters to regularly highlight goings on at the games.
